The Faces Behind MRPL
Once upon a time, a guy named Ravi Shroff, who btw is the Managing Director of Excel Industries (1941), was battling chronic digestive problems and a bunch of other health issues. He consulted many healthcare practitioners to no avail. Eventually, a series of such unfortunate events led him to probe deeper into understanding the functioning of the human body. He realised that “there is something working inside us which we need to try and work along with” .That’s when he stumbled upon ‘Microbiome’, which at that point of time was hardly the talk of the town. On exploring further, Ravi was able to enhance his Gut Microbiome through healthy diet and lifestyle changes.
The big bang happened at a dinner with Dr. Gautam Das - Chief Scientist and advisor to the Genomics Board of India. Ravi decided to make the most of his knowledge by starting a Gut Microbiome testing company to help everyone who was suffering from digestive issues and also contribute to microbiome research in India.
On being asked about Microbiome Research Pvt Ltd, Ravi explains,
“Our mission is that we really want to get down to the root of the problem that originates from the gut. The vision is how we can get people to take charge of their own health. If the control of your health was in your own hands, wouldn’t you feel far better about it than relying on someone else? Take charge of your own health and what is happening within you”.
